T+A’s Symphonia

If you’ve been looking for a high performance component that can do everything – with a minimal (and very attractive) footprint, we highly suggest the T+A Symphonia. At $10,995, this is not a budget/entry-level piece, however the level of performance, refinement, versatility, and execution deliver tremendous value.

The Symphonia takes advantage of their custom versions of the PURFI Eigentakt Class-D modules to deliver 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms (double that into 4) and gives the user every audio option.

In addition to offering a built-in streaming, USB DAC that is ROON ready, there is an additional RCA/SPDIF input and an optical input too. You can also stream via Bluetooth, WiFi, or Ethernet (our preference). A single, RCA analog input is provided in case you need to connect a tape deck (yes, please) and an excellent MM phono stage.

It doesn’t stop there. For those of you that still have terrestrial radio stations that you love, there is an on-board FM and DAB tuner.

We’ll have a full review shortly, but suffice to say the audio performance is what we’ve come to expect from T+A. Dynamic, detailed, open, and musical. It drives our reference YG Acoustics Summit speakers flawlessly. And, there is even a subwoofer output should you need a line level output for that.

T+A has missed nothing here. While you might initially raise an eyebrow at the price tag, consider what you’d be spending on four sets of interconnect and mains cables, not to mention rack space. See what we mean? Furthermore, in a more design oriented environment where great sound is a plus with a minimal box count a priority, this elegant performer will blend right in. Turntable or not.
