Rega’s Naia – In house!

$19k for a Rega? Don’t think about it that way. Think of it as a $50k table that you don’t need to fuss with – ever.
Well, it’s a damn good Rega, and unlike all the other tables in this price range, it has a fiddliness factor of zero. That’s right. You can unbox it, set the tracking force and roll. No other mega table offers this level of simplicity. Rega’s flagship Naia table, with their matching Aphelion 2 MC cartridge has been here for about two weeks now, and it’s been nothing but vinyl enjoyment. We’ve got a lot more listening and comparing to do, but this table is spectacular in every way. The new Aphelion 2 cartridge is a serious step up from the previous flagship, the Apheta 3. Rega continues to give their top MC cartridges more refinement, more tonal body, and more sheer dynamic range. You could get your Naia without cartridge and save $4,000 – ish, but resist the urge. This cartridge was made for this table and is absolutely lovely. Remember, no setup.
If you happen to be someone that appreciates true technical excellence and execution – this table will be like catnip. The unexperienced will go instantly to the form factor resembling the P8 and P10 – but every molecule of the Naia is refined beyond anything Rega has ever done.
However, if you have a P8 or a P10 and you’ve been itching for an upgrade, this might just be a way to slip it past whoever you live with, without them even knowing you’ve bought a new table. Fein ignorance.
We’ll have a full review shortly, but even at this point, you can expect this one to be a major award winner. Our publisher was at Roy Gandy’s house 20 years ago when the initial Naiad prototype was hanging on his listening room wall and still a twinkle in his eye, so it’s an incredible honor to finally have one here.
It’s bigger and better in every way than anything they’ve ever done (other than the limited edition Naiad) and one of the best values going in top turntables.
A big thanks to The Sound Organisation for sending it our way.
