The TOP Pass Preamp…

The Pass XS Pre has been a fixture here for nearly a decade. So, it’s not like Pass Labs just spits out new products to keep the shareholders and the suits happy. That’s the beauty of still being a privately owned company.

In case you didn’t know, Nelson Pass designs the power amplifiers and Wayne Colburn designs the preamps.

At first blush, right out of the box, Colburn’s claims that this one is quieter and more dynamic, certainly ring true. It’s like when the new Porsche 911 GT3 is 30 more horsepower and you think “well that’s not THAT big of a deal…” But it IS.

We’ll be doing a lot of side by side between XS and XS 2 for you in the months to come.

In the meantime, you can visit the Pass website.

Price for the three box preamplifier is $55,000
